What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

I have learned and been given several pieces of advice and don't have just one. Some of my favorite that apply to daily life/ work would include. "Treat others as you wish to be treated". This is so important not only for life but in our business. Always put yourself in the other persons shoes. Another favorite that my Dad has used over the years is "a good deal is when both parties are happy". We may think of that more from buying a car or for him a motorcycle however I use this almost daily in a different manner as we educate and explain different situations  and strategies to clients. We want to make sure we understand what is important to them and always make sure they are comfortable and happy. If we are on the same page and they are comfortable and happy then I am as well!  I could keep going but one last one is "people don't plan to fail they fail to plan".  I heard this years ago and I think it applies every day as we have tasks in front of us every day, both life and work. Making a plan and being disciplined to follow through with whatever it may be is not easy but having a plan to follow can make it much more obtainable.
