Angel Santiago

Financial Planner

What is your favorite vacation you have ever been on?

A family road trip around Colorado. We visited Breckenridge, Estes Park, Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, and the Cabrini Shrine in Golden. It’s a breathtaking part of the country, and we never run out of things to do there.

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is...

“Don’t chase success, be faithful to your calling”.  I received this advice from a mentor early in life and it reminds me that purpose always outweighs pressure.

Something you might not know about me is...

I thought I would be a counselor, working in marriage and family therapy.  Early on when my employer at the time asked me to sit down for the securities test to become a financial advisor, I thought it would be temporary while I completed my master’s degree in counseling. It didn’t take long to discover that I get to live the vocation of a counselor every day as I help my clients make wise and meaningful decisions for themselves and the ones they love.

Angel Santiago joined Cedarwood Financial Partners as a founding partner in 2022 after serving clients in the financial planning and banking industry for seven years. His experience with investments began in 2003 when he worked as an auditor of wealth management firms.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico, Angel obtained a Master of Science in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Central Texas. Angel’s passion for working with corporate clients and individual investors comes from his background in counseling. His desire to serve people is what drives his process and allows him to help clients discover, clarify, and pursue their financial needs and aspirations.

Cedarwood’s vision of giving back to the community resonates strongly with Angel’s purpose. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and has served as a Sunday School teacher for both Pre-K and high school students at St Luke Church in Temple. Angel currently serves on his church’s Pastoral Advisory Council, the Board of Directors of Temple Christian Outreach, and also serves on the Board of the Central Texas Orchestral Society.

Angel and his wife, Maria live in Temple and have 4 children who are involved in theatre, sports, orchestra, and church. When not busy with work or volunteering, they enjoy making memories by traveling, hunting, and experiencing the arts.
