After serving his clients and working in leadership at Edward Jones for a decade, Alex Murphy decided it was time to make a greater impact. Driven by a vision to bring a family focus and feel to all sides of life, Alex helped found Cedarwood in 2022.
Alex is an Accredited Asset Management Specialist, as well as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, and is keen to continue his learning and development.
Prior to his time at Edward Jones, he worked in economic development, facilitating company relocations and growth. He also coached college soccer at Hanover College and high school basketball at Shawe Memorial High School during this time.
Alex strives to make an impact in his local community in Montgomery and The Woodlands in Texas by volunteering at church, and community events, and heavy involvement with local high schools and athletic programs.
When he’s not focused on business, Alex cherishes every moment he gets with his family. He, along with his wife Tricia, and three daughters, love to attend high school sporting events, explore the world, and play golf.

Maddie summarizes her role as a Client Service Specialist with one word: Serving. Whether it be serving clients or serving our financial planners, she enjoys finding the best way to deliver the support and make their lives easier.
She loves getting to know clients on a personal level, learning all about their family life, hobbies, favorite sports teams, what motivates them, pet peeves, etc. She finds it creates a stronger relationship and over time clients begin to feel more like friends and family instead of an account number.
In her free time, Maddie likes to travel. With a goal to travel all over the world, she is on her way. Her next dream destination on the list is Spain!
If she’s out of groceries and wants to grab a quick bite to eat, her go to local restaurant is a toss up between Cyclone Anaya’s and Fajita Jacks.
Maddie is a native Texan, born in Houston, however she was raised in Arizona. She couldn’t stay away from Texas and moved back after graduating college in 2020 to be close to her family. She can always be found outside playing sports, working out, or eating some delicious food. Maddie is the proud aunt to four sweet girls and a nephew on the way!
